I spoke over the telephone with him today and he said that it was my day and gave me a good advice that helped me to win,” Iglinskiy said. According to the cyclist this is the most significant victory in his professional career. “When Nibali was ahead of me during the last kilometers and I thought that I would be able to only fight for a place at the podium at best. But soon I was the only cyclist who was trying to catch up with him. When approaching the final ascent I realized that I caught up with him and could achieve more than just a place at the podium. I increased the speed and managed to cross the finishing line alone.” Maksim Iglinskiy, Astana team’s cyclist won the prestigious one-day Liege-Bastogne-Liege race showing the result of 6 hours 43 minutes and 52 seconds. Italian Enrico Gasparotto, one more Kazakhstan team’s cyclist, won the third place in the race. Alexandre Vinokourov won the race in 2005 and 2010.
